Wonderful bright pink silk with heavy embroidery with Clusters of cherry blossoms. The obi is sewn half a few places with a light pink silk backing. Dates from the 1950s or earlier. The photos do not do this textile artwork justice. Would look lovely hanging on the wall or on a table.Obi is sewn folded in a few places. It is part of an extensive textile collection that belonged to a diplomat who lived in Japan for many years in the 1950s and then the Ivory Coast in the 1960s. The quantity and quality of fabrics and accessories is one not often seen outside of Japan. Everything in the collection from Japan dates from 1960 or earlier. I have Kimonos, yukata, shoes, belts, Obis, purses, banners, bolts of fabric, booties, socks and more. All from japan in the mid century. If you are looking for something I may have it and have not listed it yet.
