The Consulate, had been in the Kansas City area for 25 years - we therefore believe these items are approximately 41 years old. It has been used VERY lightly - basically for instruction. The board table has the original consulate label on the bottom as shown. The board table is made from one piece of Kaya wood, in the traditional manner with four Goban Legs. The table is a 9x9 and was intended to explain and train new people to the game of GO.
It does NOT have any cracks, and the photos are a true representation of this item. The board has the wood cover and the cotton cloth with it - original to this board. The board measurements are: 5.75" thick x 12 7/8" x 14.5" The legs are 4" tall and so overall height is 9.75 tall. The GO bowls are in their original box and are made of Cherry.They meausure:4" tall x 6" in diameter. The Stones are in their original box, in their original bags - there are 180 white and 181 black. The white are Hyuga Shell - Snow quality (Yuki) with fine straight lines and the black are slate. They are 8.01mm - size 30, approximately. Everything is quite nice and is Gift Quality. Because of the provenance, this is an unusual find! We try to describe our item in detail - all items are pre-owned unless we state otherwise and age appropriate wear is to be expected.
