Kakunodatemachi, Akita Prefecture, is a small castle town in the Tohoku region. There are still many weeping cherry trees, which are natural monuments, in the town. Sakurahide work was born about 200 years ago as a handicraft of a low-ranking samurai in Kakunodate, and has been handed down to this day and is designated as a traditional craft.It is the technique of cherry bark work and the characteristics of the bark of wild cherry blossoms (Sakura bark shellfish iron sen). The bark, which has been naturally dried for over a year, is shaved to make it thinner and then sharpened. Make flower and leaf molds, attach them one by one using the technique of cherry bark work, add streaks to give a three-dimensional effect, and finally apply blue staff to finish the painting.
