This scene shows the reverence the Japanese people have for their cherry trees; this ancient tree is propped up with poles and stands proudly beside a shrine. The print measures 40.5cm wide by 27.2cm high. There is foxing throughout, most noticeably to the margins and the white entrance to the shrine. Printed pencil signature to lower edge. As there is no jizuri seal, I would date this to around the 1960/70's.
